With 2024 right around the corner, we are excited to announce the arrival of our new-and-improved Hook & Hackle online shop! While we underestimated the effort and time it would take, we are glad to have done this – our new site will help us educate others about fly fishing and rod building. Not only that, it will also help provide our current customers (YOU!) with an overall better shopping experience online.
New upgrades to look forward to in 2024
By the end of January 2024 we expect our new 2024 “Xi’s”, which are a sleek dark gray. Last we checked, we only had about 350 or so blanks left of our green Xi’s. And when these green Xi’s are gone, they’re gone for good, so take advantage of our sale while you can!
Looking just a few weeks ahead, the new Xi Series will drop the 7’9” 3-weight in favor of a 7’11” 3-weight. We’ll also be sporting a shipment of 50 new 8′ 10-weights! The ‘good folks’ up in Minnesota have been asking for something like this when fishing for Musky, Sturgeon, or Northern Pike. That’s what we like about the folks in Minnesota: they THINK BIG and they FISH BIG!
Enjoy 50% OFF all Xi rod building kits and blanks!
To make up for the time we kept the store down, we are offering ALL the “Xi” rod building kits and blanks at a full 50% OFF our current supply! Our new webstore (still at the same address) has all of the Xi 50% off kits and blanks uploaded, so they may be ordered immediately. The new X2i’s are also ‘up’ and on sale for 35% off, both kits and blanks.
Every day, we add between 20-50 items to the webstore. If you want to order something that is not showing up (yet), just give us a call: (412) 559-1654. We will do our best to get you what you need to start or finish any rod.
As Gomer used to say, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” We appreciate your business, patience and consideration as we continue to enhance our product offerings and information about rod building.

Do you only carry rod building supplies now?
Looks like it, I just went to the site to by two fly lines and some other things. It’s a shame, their house brand lines were my favorite floating lines – Cortland 444 in an olive color pefrect for the Letort and other PA spring creeks.
