I knew this would aggravate some of my customers (some suppliers too) … and did it anyway! It took the better part of a year before Terry and I were comfortable with Seaguide. And in that year, I’ve noticed some Seaguide ‘hangtags’ on St. Croix, G. Loomis, Winston and even Orvis … definitely worth further investigating. The more I learned, the more I liked the guides … and that was before I knew the pricing! When I learned I could put together a ‘state-of-the-art’* guide set for a very reasonable price … i.e. just a couple of bucks more than the ‘regular’ guide sets we’ve been selling.
Seaguide: One of the finest guide & tip top brands we carry! How good are they? Well, I’ve noticed they’re being used by Scott, GL, Winston and even Orvis, to name a few. That alone gave me reason to check them out but forget about what ‘those guys’ say … I like them: better corrosion resistance, more durable, smoother line release and are beautiful to see. The pre-ground feet have the best grinding finish of any production guides I’ve seen and need little or no prep. So, you get all these benefits in our upgrade and ….. for a similar or even lower price! How could I say ‘no’ to that?!
All tip tops, running guides (both 2-footed & single footed) and hook keepers have an “Adaman”. Adaman is Seaguide’s PVD (Eco-Friendly) finish for any steel ring guides, snake guides or tops etc. This PVD finish is more than 2 times harder and 6 times smoother than any other PVD finished guides on the market. Adaman is available in Silver, Black and Gun-smoke. According to the manufacturer, Adaman is the hardest, most durable finish of any other PVD’d guides, hands down.

I was a firm believer in snake brand guides until Ron asked me to try these. I have several sets of the other guides that I had ordered to save on shipping but after wrapping with these, the other brand can just sit in a drawer. These take no prep work and the thread does not slip off the guide foot when wrapping like many others. I am glad I tried this one. It is my favorite now.
