Fresh from the factory! We have a limited supply of combo seat/grips, all made from lightweight carbon fiber, CF, (aka graphite). These reel seats are the lightest weight we’ve ever seen. After extensive testing by some of our most demanding custom rod-building customers, and a few tweaks, we have a quantity of these cutting-edge seats and grips to offer to our customers. On average, these grip/seat combos weigh about 20-25% less than conventional (usually aluminum & cork) setups. We want to note that cork grips actually weigh a couple of grams less than their carbon fiber counterparts. Still, we find that the gripping power and transmission of vibrations (“Is that a strike?) is superb. Likewise, a CF grip should also be more durable than cork. The reel seats average a whopping 40% weight reduction over an aluminum seat!
3 Sizes: 1-4 (small), 4-6 (medium) & 7-10 (large). These are only ‘general’ suggestions. For instance, I’d definitely recommend the medium size for all our Xi Czech Nymph 10′ blanks, even the 3-weight. If you don’t want the fighting butt that’s included on the medium size combo, opt for the small size. It should work with any standard reel for a 5-weight and comes with a butt cap. (We do have butt caps on order for the medium and large sets … will not arrive until September ’25.
