The foundation of these reels is their fully machined aluminum frame and spool, both of which are anodized for extreme durability and dependable use in both salt and freshwater. And while dramatically ported to reduce weight, the frames and spools are designed to maintain the strength and stability essential for landing tarpon and permit. The heart of these reels is their drag system and unlike most drawbar reels that use coil springs for drag plate pressure, Power reels utilizes a series of conical spring washers and carbon fiber stainless-steel brakes and a clutch bearing that provide zero startup inertia across its large range of resistance. Additionally, the reel’s drag nob allows for nearly exact “click” values and the ability to set a redetermined minimum level of residence. Power reels are packaged in a grey TFO neoprene pouch. |
