Exceptional rod blanks 11/2/2019
These three blanks HHSB: 98,76,95 make exceptional rods I use foam casting grips and single foot ceramic guides & tip top, and no bling… only solid black or dk green thread. The 9-5wt with H&H DT-5-F Hi Floater Line is my go to rod, with my being able to sling line further, more precisely and delicately than any 9-6wt rod Ive ever used. I can fish all day without becoming fatigued, and it handles large fish & sharp shocks very well. On small bushy streams I use the 76-3/4wt. On large, fast early spring snow melt streams I use the 9-8wt. I have a short readjustment period between the rod wts, especially between the 9-5wt and the 76-3/4wt.

Great for the price but heavy swing weight 9/30/2019
Ive built 3 rods on this blank so far. One rod I used a shorter Trout Spey Grip using a SA Spey Lite Skagit 180 Grain with the 8FT SA sinking tips. Tested on Utahs Green River swinging ginger woolly buggers and it worked fantastic for a 9 footer. The heavy weight is not noticeable when using this method. Single handed rods using this blank are another story, they are heavy and tire my arm easy. I tried using REC Titanium single foot guides, aluminium reel seat hardware, and lite epoxy to lighten up the rod. It helps some, but the heavy swing weight didnt go away. The 3-4WT blank made by the same company is totally opposite, its very light and is fun to cast. The blank is thicker than other brands and so far holds up nicely to the abuse I gave it as a micro Trout Spey. Overall its a very good blank for the price. If they could lighten it up without compromising the strength it would be amazing!

These remind me of the old XP 4/3/2014
I built this rod you didnt build that .... oh wait, yes I did and it fishes like my Sage XP I had years ago was stolen at a local stream. Easy to control and cast. Had to try it for the price I couldnt resist.
