All synthetic blend with just enough UV fiber enhancement. Suitable for dries, nymphs & emergers. You can clearly see the UV materials in the dubbing and it really adds a nice flash.
Overview
I have tied several flies with the lightning dub including some zonkers, which considering that Im really not very good at tying, they turned out decent. I would have to say that it dubbed quite easily on the thread, I use a little bit of candle wax as my dubbing wax to help with the process. But, the only thing is that you might have to give it one or two extra turns on the thread compared to like sow-bug dubbing, but I guess that is because this is composed of antron fibers, but it still dubs really nicely. Using a dubbing teaser on it really brings out some extra flash and gives more action to the fly.
Lasting Impressions
The price on one of these packs is $2.65, but last time I checked hookhack.com, they were on sale 2 for $2. Although they were provided free of charge, would I spend my money on them? Yes, it is a great product. |
